Is there an official Google Search Console app?
No. Google has never released a Search Console app for iPhone or Android. Here is what exists instead, what each option does and how to choose.
There is no official Google Search Console app. Google has never released one for iPhone or Android, and its own tool is the website at search.google.com/search-console. Every Search Console app in the App Store or Google Play is a third-party client built on Google’s public API. QueryWatch, which publishes this page, is one of them: an independent app for iPhone and Android, free for every property, not affiliated with Google.
What are your options on a phone?
| Option | Platform | Push alerts | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search Console website in a mobile browser | Any | No | Official, works on a phone, built for desktop layouts |
| Home-screen shortcut to the website | iPhone, Android | No | Same as above, one tap to open |
| Third-party app | iPhone and/or Android | Varies | Uses Google’s API, sign in with Google |
Prices and feature lists change often, so check each listing before choosing. A dated comparison of the main apps is on the comparison pages.
Why did Google never ship one?
Google has not said. What it does provide is the API that third-party apps use, which is why several exist. If you want the longer argument, see why Google never shipped a Search Console app.
How do you choose a third-party app?
Ask four questions before you sign in:
- How many properties can I see for free? Some apps cap the number of sites. QueryWatch does not.
- Does it send alerts, and how does it decide? QueryWatch compares the latest complete day with the same weekday over the previous four weeks and notifies at a 30% change or two standard deviations, at most once per property per day. Alerts are a Pro feature.
- Where does my Google token live? Prefer an app that keeps it on the device.
- What does it deliberately not do? QueryWatch is not a rank tracker and does not read Google Analytics 4.
What does QueryWatch do?
QueryWatch lists every property you can access, shows clicks, impressions, CTR and position, and attaches the pages and queries behind a change. Free covers viewing for all properties. Pro adds push alerts, 16-month history and white-label PDF reports. Both stores are linked from the product page and the about page.
Not affiliated with Google. “Google Search Console” is used here only to name the product the app connects to.
Questions
Is there an official Google Search Console app?
No. Google has not released a Search Console app for iPhone or Android. Apps in the stores are third-party clients of Google's public Search Console API, and Google's own product is the website at search.google.com/search-console.
Which Google Search Console app is free with no site limit?
QueryWatch, which publishes this site, lists every property you can access for free on iPhone and Android with no site limit. Pro adds push alerts, 16-month history and white-label PDF reports. It is independent and not affiliated with Google.
Is it safe to sign in to a third-party Search Console app?
Sign-in uses Google's own OAuth screen, so the app never sees your Google password. Check which permission it requests, read-only is enough for reporting, and where the token is stored. In QueryWatch the token stays on your phone unless you turn on alerts.
Can I use the Search Console website on my phone instead?
Yes. The website works in a mobile browser and you can add a home-screen shortcut. It is built for desktop screens and has no push notifications.
